OBJECTIVE
My goal is to pursue a career in the technology and creative communications industry. From device network technologies to design and development of print, multimedia, Internet and software applications, I am passionate about simplifying the user’s interactions. My goal is in empowering users to achieve their goals efficiently and effectively. I want to design technology that users can relate and use. Making information more accessible, simple, and alike just like the exchange in our conversation.

Self , Maui, HI • From web design to maintaining a 20 iMac and 10 PC
for Big Brothers Big Sister of Maui County. In early 2003, launched OtherFriday.org, a new media lab and lounge for teens. In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Paia Youth Center, and Akaku in creating a new media learning community that is based around a party environment.

March 1999 to 2001

Alike Technics Inc., Brisbane CA • Media architecture and information design for Alike Technics products and clients. Conceptualize Alike Technics information structure. THING Structure was designed to simplify information navigation for network access applications.
Web architecture, design and development; focusing on the e-learning and empowerment industry. Clients included SVAM.org and Alike.com Clients and vendors relations as well as manage development team. • Strong understanding of consumer marketing.

October 1997 to March 1999
User-Interface /Web Designer Consultant, Sun Microsystems Labs, Mountain View CA • Design and develop unified messaging and address book user-interface for the Persona project. Develop identity package and information web site for product launch.
Develop user-interface for device network technology. • Develop user-interface prototype for Sun and “AOL Anywhere” project. Worked on AOL TV, PDA and watch prototypes. Researched and analyzed the Post-PC movement. • Gathered qualitative data about consumer's interactions with web site and product. • Designed and applied usability studies. • Evaluate a web sites from a user experience perspective.

Principal, Contemporary Creative Source Inc., San Jose CA • Creative director for a multimedia team that was featured in Interactive Magazine Best Studios. • Utilizing print and multimedia mediums, working with outside vendors, creative freelancer to stay within a startup company’s budget. Screened CCS’ creative talent (print and multimedia) prior to project acceptance and consulted talent with technical assistance during project. • Consulted CCS' clients in building a creative team and MIS standards both in electronic publishing and multimedia. Art directed, designed/produced/project managed advertising campaigns, printed collaterals, identity programs and multimedia presentations for CCS’ Creative Services department from conceptual to delivery. Clients included Apple Computer, Santa Clara Transportation Agency, US3 Inc., DDB Needham-SF, American Electronics Associations, Ask Group, Macromedia, Adobe System, Dialog Information System, Bechtel, Cisco System, Silicon Graphics, Macys.

Art Director, Carlos Perez Design Inc., San Jose CA • Responsible for the art direction, design, layout and production of printed materials for CP Design clients.
Working with CP Design creative team to produce strong communicated pieces, standardizing a cohesive identity to achieve quality and effectiveness. Responsible for designing within a budget, presenting concepts to clients and interfacing with outside vendors.Management tasks included preparing proposals, work authorizations, schedules, estimates and invoices.

February 1989 to July 1990
Computer Graphic Designer/Partner, Future Envisions, San Jose CA.Produced mechanicals for multicolor brochures, catalogs, newsletters, packaging, logos, publications, posters entirely on Macintosh and outputting to film negatives.Future Envisions specialized in computer-generated artwork and was one of the leaders in producing design mechanicals - from conceptual to final film. Featured in ABC's Profile of Excellence in 1991.

July 1987 to February 1989
Sustaining Engineer/
Project Manager, Exar Corporations, San Jose CA. Standardize and correlate specifications in the packaging department and production control to meet delivery schedules with overseas subcontractors.Interfaced with mother company, Rolm in Japan, I was sent throughout Asia to correlate and standardize specifications with overseas contractors. Dealing with contracts valued at 5 to 6 million dollars annually.
